I like to read.
I read a lot. For some reason, I often read books that I can identify myself and my life in, although they tend to make me sad.
Therefore, I decided to read something that’s got nothing to do with me at all, but that I still could enjoy. I bought two books a couple of days ago.

Fleshmarket Close by Ian Rankin

and Underneath it all by Traci Lords

I hope they’re worth reading!

Some of you might know that I, during most part of my childhood, was a huge fan of Harry Potter. In all honesty, I still am. I think I started reading them when I was about 10 years old. That’s AGES ago.
For the release of the last book (21st of july 2007) I was actually part of the HUGE group of fans that queued in front of a Sci-FI bookstore in Stockholm (they released the book at midnight). I had promised myself to do this ever since I started reading the books and I never intended to break that promise. It was GREAT. I sat there for about 40 hours or something, there was no sleeping, just coffee and a lot of nerds.
I found a film clip from youtube where you can actually see me in the end, right at the counter when they released the book (I was number…4 or 5 in line).

I guess parts of that is kind of embarrassing but at least they didn’t film me until the end, which is probably a very good thing!

Anyway, I’m getting a bit nostalgic now, because in november the first part of the movie Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is released, and that is literally the beginning of the end. After that I have only the second part of that movie to wait for, and then…then…yeah, that’s right. THEN WHAT?!
I’ve basically spent my whole life (at least the part of my life that I can remember) waiting for more Harry Potter. And now we’re at last getting way too close to the end, and I have no idea what I’ll do after that. It’s scary!

Btw, here’s the trailer for the last movie(s).

What do you think?
I strongly believe and hope that this will be the greatest movie so far. It has to be. Apparently it’ll be released in 2D and 3d, I can only hope that I’ll be able to see it in 3D somewhere in Sweden. If not, I’m off to IMAX in London.

Teaser poster. It speaks for itself..

Shit.

I’m growing up. Seriously. I’m an adult. I’m not a kid anymore. And the fact that it took me more than 3 years to realise I will never live with my parents again is a bit scary. Actually I’ve realised that one time before, the day after I moved to my own apartment. But still. I’m kind of shocked. I’m growing up.

I finished reading a book today. It’s a wonderful book about grief, love, hope, happiness, mourning, about breaking and still going on, about living when it seems impossible. At the same time it’s a book about accepting one’s destiny. Though I don’t belive in faith.
The name of the book is The Lovely Bones and is written by Alice Sebold.

Susie Salmon is 14 years old when she is raped and murdered on her way home from school. Her neighbour lures her down to a place below the ground, a room of death. She is his latest victim.
From her lookout in heaven she follows life on earth with sympathy and understanding. She struggles to accept her death, and at the same time she’s still holding on to life on earth. For many years she follows her murderer and the police, and also her family’s mourning and fate. Until the day all her dreams seem to become reality.

(This is what’s written on the back of the book, freely translated by me)

You should all read it, it’s actually wonderful, and not as sad as you could expect.

I find funny stuff sometimes. Like this. If you find bones and a kranium stuffed up in a plastic bag, how do you come to the conclusion that you could SUSPECT that the person in the bag has been..well…killed? Or do you really think that there is any possible reason for a person to disappear, stuff herself in a plastic bag and then suddenly turn up next to a highway 13 years later? Riiight..

Bought some books from Waterstone’s too, they’re so nice, I haven’t got my card yet, so I emailed them and asked if they’d sent it, and a guy answered me with an apology and told me he’d sent me a replacement card. THAT’S good service!
So anyway, 6 books ordered, only 2 for me, the rest are for my little brother. Jeez, getting worried about his choice of litterature, lol!

So, finally I’m going to read The Timetraveller’s Wife, I’m really looking forward to that since I really want to see the movie, and I usually prefer to read the book first. I’ve done one exception, which was Twilight. In that case I actually watched the movie before reading the book, don’t even know if it was good or bad.

Now I’m dead tired, sleeeeep. Zzzzzzz…….
